Welcome to music class!
Our program serves about 500 elementary students at Aspen Ridge school. In class, students explore their connection with music through singing, body percussion, instrument playing, and creative movement. We discover how music can make us feel, practice growth mindset and teamwork, and consider the relationship between music and culture.
The Aspen Ridge elementary music program is guided by National and State Standards for Music Education, with the goal of helping children experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from making music. Many activities come from the Orff Schulwerk , Kodály, and Feierabend methods of music education. Through the study of various instruments and songs from around the world, students will develop tools and experience success. These experiences prepare students for lifelong involvement in music, whether as a listener or performer.
